Panorama 1

Last updated September 23, 2007.

The Chateau de Menthon near Bluffy, between Veyrier du Lac and Talloires, commands a beautiful view of the town of Menthon-St. Bernard and the lake. The hokey tour includes guides in period costumes. All in French, of course, so it was all lost on me, but Shirley's French is getting good enough so she could understand most of it. Three images on this page are copied from purchased postcards.

This bedroom with very beautiful inlay work on the furniture and fantastic Aubusson tapestries was used until just recently.

The incredible library includes books make from calf vellum. (Copied from a postcard.)

Here a dog is being packaged for the tour of the chateaux.

A couple is waiting for the tour to start.
